National Assembly Urges Grand Celebrations for 1500th Eid Milad-un-Nabi

Pakistan’s National Assembly passes a unanimous resolution for nationwide celebrations of the 1500th Eid Milad-un-Nabi and inclusion of Quaid-e-Azam’s historic speech in the national curriculum.

The National Assembly on Sunday unanimously approved a resolution calling on federal and provincial governments to ensure grand celebrations for the 1500th Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW) across Pakistan.

Nationwide Celebrations and Illumination Plans

The resolution, moved by Pir Syed Fazal Ali Shah Jillani, urged the organization of Milad programmes at the highest level, along with the illumination of government and private buildings. It also stressed the need to promote the teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW), Khatim-un-Nabiyeen, through nationwide events and awareness campaigns.

Resolution for National Minorities Day

Marking National Minorities Day, the House passed another resolution, moved by Naveed Aamir, recommending that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s historic 11 August 1947 address to the first Constituent Assembly be included in the national curriculum. In his speech, Jinnah famously declared, “You are free to go to your temples, mosques, or any other places of worship in this country. You may belong to any religion, caste, or creed—that has nothing to do with the business of the State.”
Both resolutions reflect Parliament’s call to celebrate Islamic heritage while promoting Pakistan’s founding vision of religious freedom and unity.
